"Maybe
it’s just a passing thing and your feelings will change,”
said the therapist.
“Is
that the best you can come up with, just a passing thing? My
feelings will change? Is this what I pay you $100 a hour for?” Michael said
sarcastically.
“I’m going to ignore that last remark, because I know you are upset,” said Reed in a pensive voice. “You have a lot going on in your life right now. They say that moving is one of the most stressful events in life.”
“Yeah,
that and losing your job, or divorce!” said Michael.
“You worry too much Michael,
everything will be fine. I think
I’ll send you home with some Valium, it might help you relax. Frankly, I
could use one right now myself,” said the therapist as he fished a bottle
from his pocket, took a pill out and swallowed it with some coffee.
“Better
living through pharmaceuticals, Reed?”
“Indeed!”
Freud would be proud," said Michael as he got up, took the bottle and left his office.
